What do you do when you’re forewarned that your life is about to change, but not for the better?
Joslyn Lee has always been the type to put others needs before her own, including her alcoholic mother and her always-too-busy boyfriend, Mark. Other than a few minor adjustments, she thinks all is well in her life until a series of unfortunate events topples in her lap, leaving her wondering if it’s fate or just a little bad luck.
As these occurrences began to drive a wedge between the people she loves and change her doting and easygoing personality; it also brings out secrets from the past. She realizes in order to regain control of her life, she will have to put herself first–and when she does, that’s when her nightmare begins. Will she wake up praying that it is all a dream or will her premonition become reality?
What inspired you to write Premonition?
What inspired me to write this title was my love for learning, reading and/or watching documentaries/movies that delved on the topic of premonitions, deja vus, and the like. On many occasions, I’ve experienced premonitions and always chalked them up as coincidences, but as you know, there are really no such thing as coincidences.
Is this a standalone novel or apart of a series?
Premonition: A Short Story Prequel will be apart of the Joslyn Lee Series, but this title can also be read as a standalone.
How did you come up with the title and storyline?
Well, the title pretty much speaks for itself. I went back and forth between Premonition and Deja Vu, but after reading and re-reading my book, I thought ‘Premonition’ fit best. The definition of a premonition is a strong feeling that something is about to happen, especially something unpleasant, which explains the story to a tee.
Can you tell us a little about the main character(s)?
Joslyn Lee is a twenty-seven year old independent woman, who had it tough growing up, but manages to ease her way into a stable life. Although she has everything she could want, what she truly yearns for is control over her failing relationships with her friends, her man and even her mother.
However, when a series of unfortunate events begins to unfold, the drama that it brings drives a wedge between her and her loved ones, and ultimately begins to change her, too.
As she rides a roller coaster of ups and downs, she soon learns that she may have the ability to change the outcome. Will she take that chance or let fate play out as is?
Do you think the cover art of your e-book/novel will persuade readers to read the story inside?
Yes, I would hope so. I designed the cover myself and really love it! I wanted it to represent the content of the book as much as possible.
How much of the book is realistic? Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
About 90% of this book is realistic, and can certainly happen and has happened in every day life. Some experiences in this book is based on my life and some is purely fictional.
What was the hardest part about writing this book?
This book was actually pretty easy to write. I wanted to take readers on a roller coaster ride and hopefully I succeeded in doing just that.
Is there a message in your e-book/novel that you want your readers to grasp?
If you received a message from the universe via a dream or a vision and the outcome wasn’t to your liking, would you change it if you had the chance? That is the question Joslyn Lee faces, and more than likely so do you if you’re paying attention.
Is there anything else you would like your/the readers to know about your book?
Yes, Premonition is free for today only! Be sure to download via Amazon.Com or your Kindle device/app. Thank you for your support!
