Review: Follow behind part 1, I can say the drama got really deep in part two. I was so caught up in this story that I had to go back and reread some parts. Boy that Brittany!! Who would have thought. Everything ain't what it seems!! I was quite disappointed in Ebony.
Good Old Soul
Love & Passion Series
She Loves Words
March 9, 2018
Synopsis: If I were to tell you I wrote a story about a May/December love affair between music and a saxophone named Her, would you believe me? I didn't think you would but it's true. Music has been here since the dawn of time. It's been the melody of life, unfettered, free, and always waiting for us to-dare I say-tame it and guide it with our voices and with our instruments. The musician may have picked up the sax and breathed air into Her, but it was from the music, the jazz that was created, that love was found and where it grew.
Amina Perrin isn't looking for love. In fact, she isn't looking for anything. She's got her yoga, her massage therapy and the community she serves, keeping her plenty busy. That is until she bumps into a stranger who may change her free-spirited mind.
Gabriel Slade is living the good life. Financially secure, nice condo overlooking the city, and the occasional "drink" with a beautiful woman--he has no intention on getting caught up, especially not with one so much younger than him, but here he is... getting all caught up and picking up a long forgotten saxophone he calls Her.
If you're opposed to sweltering love scenes between two passionate adults, this book isn't for you.
Review: This was an okay story. More of a romance.. I like the bond between Amara and Gabriel. It goes to show you that age really aint nothing but a number.. The mom though, she act like she didn't want to accept it. Lol she better get with it.
Fame is a Killer
Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series
December 9, 2016
Synopsis: Hollywood actress Hope Hadley doesn't think that things can get any worse for her. In the last twenty-four hours, her boyfriend has broken up with her and her long-running police procedural TV show has been canceled.
When a homicide detective shows up at her door the next morning with news that her ex-boyfriend has been murdered, she realizes that her troubles are just beginning. She is shocked--not only to learn of her ex's death, but also to find out that the police consider her to be a suspect in the killing.
Hope soon realizes that the only way to clear her name is by finding the real killer herself.
Review: I love mysteries and I enjoyed this book, however, I felt as if the storyline was very rushed. From the beginning, it was fast-paced and one thing after the other seemed to be happening to the main character, which of course happens IRL. However, when the story takes a turn to Hope being accused of murder, she went straight into investigative mode, blaming everyone for the murder and giving mostly all of the suspects the same alibi. It was hard to connect with the main character without any background other than her being an actress. It was also hard to believe that after a day of investigation, she came home and watched one of her old shows and BOOM she knew exactly who the culprit was..which I did as well before I got to that part. I think what was missing was the lack of adventure. All in all I think the story was written well and definitely would like to read part two!
