The Justice Motive: Innocent of Murder
Danielle ‘Dani’ Bynum is your average 17-year-old teenager full of both life and ambition. She is a role model student looking forward to graduation and attending college on a full-ride scholarship. Unfortunately, the future she is looking forward to changes one day when she accidentally takes the life of one of her classmates. When everyone discovers who the victim is, she becomes the talk of town and begins facing what becomes a very high-profile case.
Dani’s parents, Kerry and Andrea Bynum, feel helpless as they try supporting their daughter during this horrific ordeal. They believe in their daughter’s innocence and like any other parents, they are determined to do whatever they can to obtain adequate legal counsel for her. Meanwhile, their own personal issues begin to conflict with the hope they have for proving their daughter’s innocence and possibly getting her charges dropped.
Dani is charged with first degree murder and is facing up to life in prison with no possibility of parole. She soon realizes what was an accident becomes a fight for her life as the community seems to rally behind the victim’s family. With very few supporters advocating for her, the injustice she feels begins to take a toll on her. The time she spends in jail while fighting the case breaks her down even further as she succumbs to the peer pressure of other inmates.
Will Dani eventually give in and give the people the guilty plea they want, or will she continue to fight for her freedom and maintain her innocence?
